I think the debate is really more “is auburn hair red” than it is “is Sansa a redhead?” Sansa has auburn hair. It’s definitely very coppery when the light catches it, as Sansa’s is described. I think I can claim true redhead status because true gingers themselves have referred to me as a redhead but other people have simply referred to my hair as brown. Depends on who you ask, time of year, and the light. Some classify me as a redhead, others as a brunette. Auburn is really on the line between brunette and red. I’ve never been in the camp that tried to say that Sansa isn’t a redhead, but I’ve definitely said that I don’t think the Starklings are gingers. I have medium auburn hair and it’s definitely not the color of show!sansa. My two cents on Sansa’s hair: Auburn is an interesting color.
